Costituita, a margine del Monaco Yacht Show, una partnership strategica tra Perini Navi, Dykstra Naval Architects e Magma Structures. Ragione sociale della nuova joint-venture: Falcon Rig. L’accordo è stato perfezionato a bordo dell’icona del cantiere di Viareggio, l’88 metri Maltese Falcon (nella foto). La mission dei tre partner è di “collaborare in esclusiva per progettare, costruire e mettere a disposizione dell’intero mondo dello yachting a vela la nuova generazione di Falcon Rig (leggi qui) – per i designer e i cantieri che gli armatori sceglieranno”.
La nuova società – spiega una nota – consoliderà le competenze decennali che i tre partner hanno acquisito nella realizzazione dei due superyacht Dyna Rigs attualmente in navigazione. Gli alberi Falcon Rig – liberi da sartie e pertanto semplici, efficienti ed eleganti – utilizzeranno i materiali più avanzati e tecniche costruttive all’avanguardia per migliorare ulteriormente manovrabilità e sicurezza, senza compromettere la performance.
Le barche equipaggiate con Dyna Rigs permettono di utilizzare più frequentemente le vele come propulsione, anche per brevi spostamenti da una baia all’altra, il che significa ridurre significativamente il consumo di carburante.

announce a joint-venture Falcon Rig
On board the iconic sailing yacht Maltese Falcon, Perini Navi, Dykstra Naval Architects, and Magma Structures announce that they have established a Joint Venture named “Falcon Rig”.
The mission of the partners is to work together in an exclusive manner to design, build and deliver the new generation of Falcon Rigs for the global sailing yacht world – for the Designers and Builders, as the Owners may choose.
The Joint Venture will cement the knowledge of the three partners, honed from the development and decade-long in-service experience of the two superyachts sailing the oceans. The simple, efficient and elegant Falcon Rig masts will utilise the latest state of the art materials and production techniques to enhance the easy to handle and safe operation of Dyna Rigs uncluttered by stays – without compromising performance. Dynarigged yachts have already demonstrated their exceptionally environmental friendly credentials, as they lower the threshold to employ sails as propulsion – even for short hops from bay to bay. Result: unprecedented potential to save fuel.
